Yamaha FZR
Everything that the word performance brings to mind is achieved in a highly balanced manner... maneuverability and nimble performance, outstanding turning performance and outstanding acceleration. To make this possible, the hull features a new design in order to achieve an optimum relationship with the 1.8L Super High Output engine. Of particular note is the "telescopic steering" column. Yamaha knows everything there is to know about sport riding. This has resulted in the provision of a steering column that can easily be adjusted to the optimum position for riding in the stand up position when going through choppy water, and also the forward-leaning position that many riders desire for sport riding. The FZR is painted in deep purplish blue metallic, the Yamaha race image colour, an embodiment of the challenge spirit of this model. It is the perfect answer for both riders who are chasing after the image of a champion racer as well as those who want a luxurious experience all to themselves. Special Features Newly Designed Hull: The hull is a rational work of art that is extremely delicate for which no room can be left for any ambiguity whatsoever. It comes into direct contact with the surface of the water, controls the flow of water, and shapes the cruising performance of the PWC while withstanding powerful shocks. Yamaha has drawn upon its over 20 years of WaveRunner technology and wealth of know-how, combined with the results of repeated cruising tests to create the optimum hull solution especially for our FZS and FZR models. We have achieved our goal of providing the best performance on water surfaces with constantly changing conditions and reducing rider load for continued operation at sporty riding. All of the surfaces and lines that comprise the hull have opened the door to a new type of PWC never seen before while maintaining a delicate balance. The round keel achieves a high level of turning performance while reducing rider load. The bow form has the right amount of volume to achieve natural handling characteristics and nimble handling. The ultra light NanoXcel body achieves the lightest weight in this class. This provides a positive impact on all aspects of the PWC... including its sportiness, acceleration performance and the quality of its external appearance. Newly Designed Pump: A PWC is comprised of three elements - the engine, body and jet pump. The pump for the FZS/FZR consists of a large capacity intake duct, a newly developed impeller and other components matched with the tremendous power created by the 1.8L large displacement engine and the supercharger, efficiently converting this power into propulsion force, and achieving both unparalleled acceleration and high-speed performance. Telescopic Steering: Two types of riding positions are available for sporty riding. A forward-leaning position where the rider keeps his or her body low while twisting through curves like a beast crawling on the ground, suggestive of the position used in circuit races. On the other hand, a stand up position is indispensable to help riders stabilize themselves while using their knees and arms when going through choppy waters. A simple operation enables these two optimum steering positions to be achieved on a single machine. Yamaha has embodied the dreams of sport riding enthusiasts with this telescopic steering column function. Cockpit: Riders that devote themselves to sport riding want design features that also provide a feeling that is visually uplifting. Double analogue metres provide a proud accent to the red panel. The tachometre needle jumps up when the throttle is operated, allowing the rider to feel the throb of the engine, and the other needle provides visual confirmation of the current speed. The are sure to inspire virtually all riders that enjoy sports.Quick Specifications
